Task Management¶
Allegra helps you set up professional, collaborative task management. To this purpose, there are a number of features and views that are described here.
Items can be divided into schedulable and non-schedulable items. The non-plannable items can be further subdivided into externally triggered items and internally triggered items.
We call the plannable items tasks, while the non-plannable, externally triggered items are called tickets. The internally initiated items, e.g., those resulting from meetings, are called action items.
If we have chosen the term “task management” as a heading, this is based on the understanding that it includes the management of all possible items, not just the tasks that are defined here as plannable.
Allegra allows you to:
Create, edit and delete tasks of various types.
Assign tasks
Delegate tasks
Be reminded of due or overdue tasks
Attach documents to tasks
Organize tasks in hierarchical structures
The Task Navigator offers a number of views that are helpful for task management are:
-
The flat list view allows you to group and sort tasks by almost any task attribute. In addition, the view mode can be set to “scroll”, making even large item sets easily manageable.
-
The tree view shows the item hierarchy and allows you to display long text fields, such as the item description and comments.
-
The hierarchical view is similar to the tree view, but allows you to define the order of the items at each structure level. However, it does not support grouping and it does not display long text fields.
-
With the taskboard or agile board, you present your tasks as cards, which you can assign to other employees or change their state by moving them.
